The Grand Bahama Island

Having just returned from the Bahamas Islands, I was happy to work another new DX station this evening on the 30 meter band. I was in the right place at the right time and quickly worked C6AKQ in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island.

The Grand Bahama Island is a major dry dock area for cruise ships;

John,

C6AKQ is Bob N4BP. I'm sure you've probably have worked him in a QRP sprint or two. I'm sure he's down there for the big ARRL DX Contest coming up this weekend.

Good afternoon John, as you know I too contacted the same C6 station the other night. Congrats on your contact and as for the ships I sure would not want to be on the Carnival cruise ship that has been in tow for over a week now.
Safe travels
Mike

Hello Larry,

Still in NC but looking forward to returning home in a few more days. It's a bummer to miss the contest but family is first. I was happy to work them. Imagine he is enjoying the warmer weather.

Hello Mike,

Glad I haven't sailed with them in a long time.
